Lessons started~~~

Practically, my timetable is really packed with lectures and tutorial. With some even ending as late as 5pm!!!

Honestly, this 'pre-U' life here as quoted by some of my friends is really something very, i mean VERY new for me.
Life here is totally different from daily schools~~~
Well, from kinder garden till primary till secondary school, having classes means sitting at your own place and WAIT for your teacher's arrival to start lessons.

But here, you have to walk, brisk walk and even run from one lecture hall to another or to the tutorial room for your next class. That's why life here is really hectic at times since all of us are always rushing here and there. Hah, a good chance to maintain fitness as well though~~

Lectures here are mostly quiet enjoyable and interesting, though some lectures are really superb boring (those whom read directly from the screen and do not bother to do extra elaborations). Um, homework have not really piled up yet since the semester just began.

One thing that is making me really stressed out is the fact that people are so used to studying anywhere, anytime. Gosh, this scene really freaks me out man!!! Since i'm still 'lenganging' here and there~~~

Actually, i personally feel that what we are studying here is almost the same as form 6. What actually makes matriculation programme more easier is that the study system here goes by semester. After one semester, you can focus and concentrate fully in your next semester. Those previous data in your brain can be totally wiped put after the 1st sem exam.

Okay, i'm actually wasting my lunch time blogging here....
To Zhi Hui : This IS NOT in the middle of an oil palm plantation!!! It's just located in a small town outside of Gambang kay....
Just read my blog for updates la since i'm freezing my plurk account...
Don't really ecpect me to go on-line everyday rite?? hah

Till the next time~~~

Hectic orientation week

Hey guys, i'm finally back!!!!

so, pretty obvious that i've just done my 1st week in KMPh

ever wondered how's orientation week??
ever thought that orientation week is just free and easy??

here goes the updates~~~

Orientation Day 1 :

first impression on this matrics was 'gosh, the compound is really big. That means, lots of walking to do...'
After completing those pendaftaran stuff, me dad and mum proceeded to the asrama for the so-called 'official moving in ceremony' with our hands full of luggage and some daily necessities.
then, we did a mini gotong-royong since everything in the room was practically covered with dust. Seriously, there was this tiny winy thought of going home after looking at the room~~~
It took us really a looonng time cleaning and arranging stuff.....
so, foUr person in a room. For me, all my roommates are Malays.
There was this talk for new students about 8pm,
The day ended with me being quite mentally tired and missing my parents already~~~

Orientation Day 2&3 :

Woke up at about 3.30 every single day to avoid being jammed in the washroom. Gosh, now i suddenly realised the importance of sleep when i'm not getting enough of them~~~

With a short meeting at 5.30 and a senaman pagi later on, sleeping at around 1am is certainly NOT ENOUGH!!!

The day was packed with talks to in the morning till afternoon and night while evening was scheduled for 'riadah', which is exercise again......

Even after the night talk ending at around 11, the facilitators aka facis will keep us all front of the fello and sitting in the tar road. while giving some 'lectures', advises and also some scolding.....

Orientation Day 4 :

Was told to wear dark clothes for the evening jungle tracking. Well, literally, dark clothes=getting dirty+filthy.

As expected, all of us went through this knee length dirty water which was still acceptable...

But, imagine the look on our face when this really huge pond of MUD appeared out of nowhere. What the hell is a mud-pond doing in a jungle. Then, reality dawned upon us. The 'jungle tracking' was just an excuse. Their real 'intention' was to get us soak in mud!!!!

Very unwillingly, each of us stepped into this mud-pond which also has a knee-length depth. Well the 'welcome ceremony' doesn't end here. Those past year seniors were already in the pond, splashing mud all over us, wiping mud onto our face~~~
The end product?? A bunch of human-based mud monster was born~~~
To take over the earth?? nah.....
To make the hostel toilet really dirty?? a big yes!!!

Since those mud was the 'premium' quality ones, as in the texture is really thick, i can practically feel the skin on my face hardening.....oh, like doing a facial mask. Only you'll get this for free here...

Well, though it made us really dirty, the whole process was really enjoyable indeed. With screams and grumbles along the way. By the way, the guys got a hell more of it then us. They were 'instructed' to dip their whole body into the pool, like swimming. Imagine that??!!

Though the playing part was somehow enjoyable, the cleaning part was totally #%&*#@*......

Scrubbing the dried mud off our body, shirts and pants, even shoes was really super tiring!!!!
It's as if my hands are gonna get dislodge from my body anytime!!!
To make matter worst, the whole washing room was covered with mud too!!! And those mud stayed for a total of two days before the cleaning lady came.

Orientation Day 5 :

Woke up 10times more tired than usual. But luckily, no extreme activities today was planned for us today. I even slept when the ceramah was going on!!
Orientation week officially ended around 5pm with closing ceremony.

To all those seniors when took the trouble to come back specially to 'train' and guide us, a very big THANK YOU *hugs*
Though we might have hurt or disappoint you guys in anyway, well....i believe that forgiveness is already given right??

So, lectures starting officially next week!!!
And guess what?? I'm doing physics??!!!!

OMG!!!!

I feel super HOMESICK now man~~~
And i'm totally carving for Chonese food!!!!

the dream that did not came through

I hereby declare that Zhi Ying is officially joining the others 6000+ students out there whom FAILED, i repeat F-A-I-L-E-D to secure the all-time-Malaysia's students-favorite aka the 'prestigious' scholarship that we have ever had------JPA Scholarship

Swiping off the sarcastic tone...*sweep,sweep*

At around 1am, an anxious and tired me typed in my IC and there....*smack*!!!
two cold, heartless and cruel words :TIDAK BERJAYA appeared of of nowhere
and dashed my hopes.....
high hopes?? not really...
moderate hopes??perhaps...
but when there's HOPE, DISAPPOINTMENT follows very closely
and the impact of it may be very much higher than those when hoping with high spirits..
my mood and spirit for the day was flushed *all the way down the toilet* away instantly....

But as the saying goes"when one door closes, another door opens"
not getting JPA scholarship isn't the end of the world indeed
life still needs to go on, choices still needs to be made and the path still needs to be taken
thus, my heart is all set for matriculation now
maybe God has something more important and even greater installed for me there
who knows?? *positive thinking rules!!!*

For those out there who got it
millions of Congratulations!!!! raise our flag high and make Malaysia proud man!!!
show the 'Malaysia Boleh' spirit to the world!!!

For those who didn't
take a deep breath, get of of depression(if you still couldn't get over the fact that you're not chosen)
this ain't the first failure you're gonna face in life
if you're still dwelling in it, what about the long road ahead of you?!
get off and hide in the bushes??
nah....lift your chin high, walk with dignity...
as WE, the non-jpa scholars
are gonna strive for the best, study our butts off
and be somebody one day *beware jpa scholars!!!*
for failure is the mother of success~~~
thus, SUCCESS here we come!!!

"I fail, fail and fail many times in my life. And that is why I succeed" - Michael Jordan

that's all for today
last minute packing for matrics awaits me~~~

p/s:the next post will be made in Pahang
whee~~~

Filed a complaint letter to Big Apple Donuts

Although it was just a small matter, me and my friends whom were present still decided to file in a complaint letter as we was extremely frustrated at that moment.

Anyway, i'm actually helping them raise their service standards right??

so, below is the actual complaint i send in via e-mail

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I visited Big Apple Donuts outlet in Kinta City on 7/5/2009 around 5.30pm. My friend approached the cashier counter and asked for a catalog but was turned-down by a Chinese lady staff, wearing a blue top and white pants, in which i think is the manager-on-duty. I'm gonna address her as 'the lady' since she wasn't wearing any name tag. She informed my friend that Big Apple Donuts doesn't provide any catalogs for customers. So, I approached one of the Malay staff and requested for the same thing. He treated me friendly and was about to hand me the catalog(which is made up of vouchers) when he was stopped by the lady. I heard the lady lecturing him that only customers whom have made purchases are entitled to receive those catalogs as they come with vouchers. I was shocked and disappointed with the managers action as i was planning to buy some donuts for my friends whom are still working at that time. Thus, it is necessary for me to bring a catalog as a reference for them as they couldn't be at the specific outlet. The lady even gave me a 'displeased' look when lecturing the staff. In the end, i resorted to picking up a dirty catalog left behind by customers on the table. I'm truly disappointed with the service provided since Big Apple Donuts is a renown international franchise. I have a few question regarding this matter:

1) Is there any written terms and conditions saying that the catalog can only be given to customers whom have made a purchase in Big Apple Donuts?

2) Is it strictly forbidden to hand out catalogs to those whom requested for it but have not made any purchases as it comes with promotion vouchers?

If both the answer is yes for the above questions, then i would strongly suggests that Big Apples Donuts should produce a specific catalog for the needs of customers.

3) What about those customers whom need a catalog but are still not ready to make any purchases?(for example, they need to let their family/friends decide on the choice of donuts. But their family/friends are unable to be present at the outlet) Other than that, wouldn't it be extremely troublesome to have everyone present in order to choose the flavor they prefer when only one person is needed to make the purchase? This is when a catalog comes in handy.

I would like to hear from your company soon regarding this matter.

Thanks for your cooperation.

From,
Frustrated customer

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully they doesn't recognise me as the 'culprit since i've practically bought A LOT , i mean really A LOT from them.....
48 on the 6/5 and 18 on the 7/5.....
who cares anyway??!!
