Korean Delight

About 1 something yesterday, a bunch of koreans(over 20 people) came for lunch...
they were like saying "anyeonghaseyong" to all of us *smiles*
their presence REALLY lifted up my spirit for work that day...
i was really excited to hear them speak korean although i can't understand a thing....
it's like a homely feeling?!....
haha, since this is actually my first time hearing korean language from real people, not through the media=)
well, maybe it's also because i did not watch any korean series during this few months..
anyway, we had a really hard time communicating with them!!
gosh, it's like they can't understand our English and we can't make out what they are saying....
in the end, it was body language which we resorted to...=.=

by the way, zhi hui and her friends came over for lunch too bout 2.15pm
didn't manage to talk much though since the outlet was practically packed with people....

Driving Alone

GOSH!!!!!
I'll be driving to work ALONE today....
even though it's just a 10minutes drive, i hope everything turns out right.....

I've been driving quite often through out the week....
fetching my bro and sis to tuition and back too....
haha, in order to master my driving skills...
well, either my mom or dad will accompany me while since mom still stressed that my licence is a kopi-O lisence...=.=///

LOL...my parking skills still need to be super refined....
and sometimes i still get confused with the direction of the steering wheel when going backwards....

GOD, PLEASE PROTECT and GUIDE ME!!!

yeap, my mood yesterday was so much better
well, guess that happends after a good rest eh??

good mood really brings out positive energy......
i wasn't frustrated when customers request to refill o'cha.....
i wasn't frustrated when customers just ignors the "please wait to be seated" sign and march into the crowded restaurant......
i wasn't frustrated even when customers keep requesting for additional cutlleries.....

wohoo!!!yea, it was indeed a very cheerful day for me >0<
by the way, there's a new full-time service crew whom joined us yesterday......

yaya, i had a Big Apple dinner at 4something yesterday...
gosh!!!the chocolate was practically dripping down!!!!! omg.....pure indulgence~~~~



well, those doing closing was given an extra job since it'll be pest control day this morning... practically everything needs to be wrapped up
menu, cutlery, plates and cups, chopstick box....etc

anyway, had a fun time chatting with Kristle, Hong and Long while waiting for the clock to strike 11.....
by the way, Hong actually help Kristle to mop half of the floor!!!!!
Pui Jin, if you ever read this, don't faint!!!
yea, it's that guy who keeps "criticizing" the way we carry out our job......
gosh!!!! and Long even said something like this: "Eh, you must have done something terrible right?? that's why you are being so good now?!"
haha, and i was yelling to support him~~~~

the day was indeed so much better......

Spring cleaning is just not my thing!!!!!

i dislikes Sundays at Sushi King!!!!
there is just an overflowing of customers!!!!
it just seems that there is no other place to eat except Sushi King.....

Gosh, i just wasn't in a good mood to serve people today.....
upon arrival at the outlet about 2pm, people was already lining up outside.....
looking at the extreme crowd doesn't bring up my spirit at all!!!!
although it means good business....which is non of my business( okay, i'm getting overboard)
it just makes our life miserable!!!!!
sometimes, i just wonder why did i choose such a "hard" job rather than a boring but easy one such as sales....
i can't believe that i'm actually getting frustrated easily by some antics of customers especially when we are super busy.....

- refill o'cha : customers just like to have their glass refilled almost every 15minutes( and i mean the same customer again and again)....doing the thumbs down signal and waving to us really pissed me off especially when we are so busy with other stuff( if i'm free, then it's okay lar...) One customer even requested to have the refill tea-pot placed on his table so that he won't have to signal us to refill his cup frequently( does he think that this place is his house?!)
at times, i really wanted to scream at them that green tea ia already free-of-charge, can't you be more contented and understand that we are really too busy to keep refilling your cup??!! GET A LIFE!!!!!

hush......okay,okay,
i know i'm exploding....
but customers of Sushi King(if you ever read this post), no matter how frustrated i'm, i'll always treat all of you with a BIG SMILE =)
because for us in the service line.......
CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS OUR PRIORITY!!!!!

Anyway,one particular customer almost made me cry....really.....
he was very demanding until the extend that i really don't know what to do, what to speak....
luckily, ah hong came over and explained to him....
that made him satisfied...
but,after that, he still criticized me openly(in front of me and Hong)
so, Ah Hong actually apologized to him and explained that i was still a trainee....
so, what did i do??
i said sorry and went into the kitchen....
took a deep breadth and came out again....with a smile on my face....
i was really hurt.....
really hurt......
took a great effort to stop tears from flowing out of my eyes....
no matter what, i still couldn't put on a sour face right??
and guess what??
i still have to attend to the same customer again later...

moving on, spring cleaning was a total disaster for me!!!!
my job was to scrub the cushion lining and sides of the bench.....
that was really a superb tiring job!!!!
gosh!!!i was practically cursing Ah Hong to fall from the ladder since he was the one responsible for planning the chores.....
Pui Jin was equally unlucky too....
she had to do a two person job since her partner did not turned up....=(
i was even planning to ask my dad for help!!!!
......job ended around 12am.....
and i'm actually blogging after my bath...
gonna get some sleep now....

First day of promotion

"Fresh Scallop and Prosperous Yee Sang"
So, that the theme of Sushi King's new year promotion.....
my shift was from 9-6 today
so, the day started with a short briefing from our manager....
as expected, all of the service crew was told to try our best and promote our BIG YEE SANG....
there's even target: that is to sell 4 big yee sang and 14 mini ones...
lol....basically,my entire conversation with customers was something like this:
-Good ???, may i take the order for your beverage now?(show menu)
-okay, so"repeat order"
-i would like to introduce you to the Sushi King's latest promotion....we have......this promotion will only last until the 10th of feb........
-take a look at our promotion items and menu while i serve you your drinks.....

Gosh!!!trying to convince customers is never an easy job!!!!
anyway, i'm very glad to be able to sell out 2 big yee sang and about 7 small ones after much effort ....(yea, that's a great achievement for me ^^)

anyway, was informed that all of us are supposed to do spring cleaning tomorrow......gotta stay till 12...=(
got a bad feeling bout that.......
gonna be super tired, super hungry,super frustrating.......=.=||||

Customer Service Workshop

went to IP again this morning for a second training....
this time, it's about treating customers....
Mun Yee and Li Teng came too this time=)
anyway, today's workshop was so much more better than yesterdays....
gosh, because of that workshop only did i realised that i actually performed many mistakes when handling customers!!!!
.....no slouching
.....cannot put one's feet up when taking orders
.....no writing on the table
.....etc....
i felt so embarrassed about myself!!!!
moving on, we were also informed about this Secret Shopper event going on...
okay, it's something like this la....
there will be certain people coming to your outlet every month to evaluate pretty much EVERYTHING!!!
from the cleanliness to the service to the taste of food....
the only problem is that we do not know who they are??!!
Therefore, it's really important for us to treat every customer equally well......
the passing mark for the evaluation is 85...
JUSCO got 82 for the month of Dec....
which means we failed.....=(
anyway, Kok Hong was praised for his manners and attitude towards customers....
haha, and i and Pui Jin used to back stab him frequently....
anyway, i had to work extra time from 6pm to 9pm....
so, i missed my dinner.....
imagine eating at 1something and not eating anything later on......
I CAN'T SURVIVE WITHOUT FOOD!!!!!

Training at Ipoh Parade

arrived at IP about 8.30 this morning for a Safe Food-Handling workshop which starts at 9.00am
Meet Jien May there as expected=)
Although the workshop was a bit boring( what do you expect right??)
i really enjoyed myself chatting and laughing around with ah May( that's what people call her in IP) and her friends lo....
Chee Kee AND Jessie.....
It's really amazing that we did not know each other at first, and the next minute, we were laughing our heads off through out our very "interesting" conversation....
gosh, we were really superb noisy!!!!
and my manager kept turning her head around, looking at this bunch of "noisy girls".....
Pui Jin and i was kind of afraid that she will lecture us for our misbehaving after the course....
at the end of that training, all of those present was supposed to sit for a "test" (and i thought of putting my brain into hibernation after spm =.= )
guess wat, the passing mark is 90!!!!
if you failed, the trainer'll be waiting for you again in Taiping tomorrow.....
haha, all of us were so tensed up!!! ( since we were doing more talking than listening)
thank god we passed the test successfully!!!! yahoo!!!!
anyway, Pui Jin and i was whispering among ourselves that the training is a good thing because we get to sit and just neeed to listen instead of working.....haha....what a bunch of lazy bumps!!!
well, training ended about 5.15pm....
so,Pui Jin fetched me and manager back to Jusco....
lol, we have to work till 6pm.....
ended up wiping the glass in front or the shop.....

Injection.....==

If not mistaken, i think the last time i had an injection was in form3 or4.....
Rubela injection i think...??

But, since my work involves food handling, i was told to receive a TYPHOID injection....
Went with Yi Teng and Mun Yee with Pui Jin driving us to MBI.....
haha, having an injection in MBI lobby??? quite funny to me...^^
at first, i thought that it'll be a quick one.....
but then, there was actually about 30 plp there waiting for the injection!!!
so, we waited on the couch and started joking around again...
-so many people, what if they forget to change the needle ar?? then we might get AIDS...
-injection pain one ar??? after if i cry how??.....
-eh, i din bring my original IC, can give em photostated one anot?? if they ask, then i tell them i lost the ori one lo.....( this was me...)
-haha, i no need take injection.....so good....( pui jin)

But then, all the joking and happy atmosphere kind of turned sour when three of us were told to cut our fingernails before given the green light for the injection......
AND GUESS WHAT THEY GAVE US TO CUT OUR FINGERNAILS??
A PAIR OF SCIRRORS!!!!!
I was like wtf???!!!!
our fingernails was kinda 1-2mm long only...and you expect us to cut that with a f***ing SCIRRORS?!
omg!!!!! i was almost gonna blow at that moment.....
thank god Pui Jin found a fingernail clipper for us from an auntie even though she's not receiving the injection....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! ><> a small dustbin like dummies and started trimming our fingernails....=.=/////

After much effort, we were finally allowed to receive that stupid injection.....
I was actually planning to look at the needle piercing into my arm....
but then gave up on that idea to prevent my arm muscle from contracting which will only make the injection process tougher....
anyway, i did look directly at the needle and my arm when the nurse push the TYPHOID liquid in and when she pulled it out since i wasn't feeling any extreme pain.....
when we came out of the injection area....all of us was complaining about the numbness of our arm....
poor Mun Yee, she still have to work that day.....
Anyway, saw Jien May waiting for the injection too when we were leaving...
had a super short conversation with her and found out a SHOCKING NEWS!!!
She's also working in Sushi King!!!! at the Ipoh Parade outlet!!!!
what a sweet coincidence......
now i'm really looking forward to tomorrow's course ot IP....
it'll sure be fun with Jien May around ^^

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Gosh, i really can't believe that it's 2009 already....
2008 is history???
there is so many precious memories of 2008 which i'm nt gonna forget for my whole life....

Had a wonderful time counting down with the church's youth in JUSCO's K-BOX yesterday.
Once finishing work at 11pm, i immediately proceeded to k-box.
We were having a great time singing, joking around, and doing stupid stuff ^o^
Not only did my legs hurt this time, but also my throat!!! All that singing and shouting really took a toll on my voice box eh??

Anyway, i got a FREE meal at Kenny Roaster Roger's yesterday!!!!
haha, yea....ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!
It all started when i planned to threat myself with a more expensive meal after so many days of hard work and ended up in Kenny Roger's.....
Ordered a chicken and pasta meal......
so, read a JODI PICOULTI's latest book while waiting.....
But, after 25min, the food hasn't arrive....
Looked for waitress which attended to me earlier.....
Then, only i knew that they lost my order!!!!
was really furious then....half of my break time was already gone!!!
Although they put in a new order for me, i kinda complained to the service leader( i think that's who she is lar...)
so, she kept apologizing and ended up saying:" .......i'm very sorry. since you've waited for that long, you don't have to pay for this meal.....
At first, i thought i heard wrongly.....But then, when i proceeded to the counter after the meal..... she came over and said thank you and kind of invited me to leave lar....
haha.....i was really happy then because that meal would have costs me around RM16.^^wohoo!!!!! that was really a mixture of lucky and unlucky though.....
